'Logic' by Operator Please

Gold Coast indie youngsters Operator Please return with their follow up to 2007 debut Yes Yes Vindictive.

New single, 'Logic' showcases a new-found maturity in Operator Please. No longer are they just teenagers who can sing and play instruments. They’re darker, moodier and, arguably, catchier (if that was at all possible). Amandah Wilkinson’s vocals have improved (less screaming\) and the mish-mash of instruments is fading.

Visually, this clip is a winner. Shots of the band playing in a dingy room, hypnotic patterns and projected images of Wilkinson’s lips fill the three minutes and 30 seconds. It’s not glamorous or complex, but perhaps that’s what makes it so great.

Operator Please are right at home amongst the UK’s finest (Arctic Monkeys, Bloc Party, Franz Ferdinand), which is probably why NME love them so much. 'Logic' proves that this five-piece are just too big for the Gold Coast.
